PROTEST SPACE X ARCHIVE AT CHARTER GARDEN, HONG KONG

The studio calls for a design for a city archive at Charter Garden in Central, Hong Kong. Located in the Central District of Hong Kong, Chater Garden is a public park directly east of the Legislative Council building. Due to its proximity to the seat of government, the garden has been used as a location for political rallies and demonstrations by groups in Hong Kong. The concept is to resurface the garden so as to create a better protest space for the protestors, at the same time, making a protest archive under it, thus making the archive site-specific and site-related. Echoing with its fundamental purpose and archiving relevant history of the site.
